Random comment from random community. A lot of people have no close friends, or support network. (Too much internet, not enough actual social contact?!) You start leaning on the people you have around you and you find how fickle most people are. It results in further isolation.
(Too much internet, not enough actual social contact?!)I definitely agree with that one, drives me nuts when I finally meet someone from the internet and their not at all like who they pretend to be online, so that could be why they don't make friends easily, they've forgotten
( ... )
It's not just that people pretend to be someone else, it's that they act in a way that they feel there are no accountability interacting online like there would be face to face.
No, we've not met. I was reading a community you were on and I found your response to be witty and/or amusing.
I too am the one people can count on to be called at 4am. I just don't know anyone who would return that favour.
Yes! I completely agree with that! I have a friend who actually runs her life through her online persona, has a professional site, many all over the world know her, - she even has t-shirts made with her on them! and once she did a post about something quite sexual and I thought, cool - a girl who is naughty and funny. So I invite her to my place on new years eve and as a joke I throw a squeezeable boobie toy at her, the size of a tennis ball and jelly like to touch and she freaks! tragic.
I wonder what community it was you found me on? Because I have noticed we have some mutual friends out there in Melbs! and all of them are the good people that are same online as off. :)
yes... bloody people always falling on us but where are they when we need them aye?!
