Cuthbert's got a lot on his mind. And one thing that was always good for that--both back in Gilead, and during his time in Mejis--was being around horses.

So he's out by one of the paddocks, sitting on the fence with his boots hooked around the bottom rail and feeding apple slices to Kiseki and a gelding he thinks belongs to one of the Pevensies.

The last time Zoe was out by the lake, all of the horses had been stabled for the night.

So when she steps out now and sees them grazing in their paddock, she grins and head over.

It's not until she gets closer that she recognizes the young man on the fence as Cuthbert Allgood.

"Didn't know there were horses," she calls out when she's still a ways behind him.

For all the quietness of Zoe's approach, and the suddenness of her words, Cuthbert gives no sign of surprise.

"There weren't, not too long back. The stables are a fairly recent addition.

Twisting around on the fence, he touches a hand to the brim of his hat. "Long days and pleasant nights--Zoe, right?"

"Shìa. And you're Cuthbert."

She comes up to the fence and leans over it, reaching one arm out to Kiseki.

"Been awhile since I was around a horse while there wasn't business of some sort going on."

"Well, that one there is Kiseki. He's Susan's."

Kiseki snorts and tosses his mane, and then takes a step forward, nosing at Zoe's palm.

"So...does your business involve horses often?"

Cuthbert seems a bit confused as to how that would work, given that Zoe lives on a spaceship and all.
