(larp) Game Territories

I don't think any game should be able to claim territory more than 100 miles from where their chronicle is based.

I also don't think we should allow games to be closer than 100 miles to each other, but that's another debate.

I agree with the first point.

If you believe in the second point, why do you want a shared universe?

I want a shared universe for the ability to travel and make/RP with friends across the country. Having games 100 miles apart doesn't prevent either.

I disagree on both points.
If some game started in Montana, I'd have no issues if they wanted to claim the whole state. Both GA games claim territory that is passed the 100 mile mark from the main city.

I don't think games should claim non-contiguous territory if the distance between the edges is unreasonable. I think this situation may be more what you are talking about anyway.

I don't see why a game can't fit its setting within a 100 mile area of where the game is based. I think most games automatically do that just for ease. Most of the Stolen Hours setting is within 100 miles of Macon, and most of the Whispers setting is within 100 miles of Atlanta (especially now that Athens and Augusta aren't used by Atlanta anymore).

Not that there can't be exceptions made. Montana is a good example. The region is sparsely populated so they might need to claim a city over 100 miles away. But I think the rule should exist that you can't claim an area more than 100 miles away, and then let exceptions be made as needed.
