THE HISTORY
☆ Sora's entire family was eliminated not long after his birth in Konohagakure, and as a result, he was placed under the care of two former elite ANBU members, Donald and Goofy, until he was deemed old enough to live on his own.

☆ At the age of eight, Sora began attending Konoha's Ninja Academy, where he discovered he possessed a unique ability that his family had been well-known for. This was the ability to, at the most primitive level, channel his chakra into a weapon (typically one of the family hook swords) and turn it into a type of "key" able to remove nearly any hidden trap or rigged seal with minimal effort. At the most advanced level, in several years of harsh training, Sora would be able to unlock the human mind, in a way that would allow him to read a person's every emotion, intention, and conscious thought. Aside from that, he found his combat strengths lay primarily in element-based ninjutsu and somewhat in taijutsu, while he was extraordinarily terrible with basics such as projectiles and the replacement technique.

☆ Four years later, he graduated from the academy and became a part of Team Leon, along with his best friend, Kairi, and his rival, Riku. They made a very dynamic team, with Kairi specializing in genjutsu and healing techniques, and Riku specializing in... well, everything. Sora prided himself on being the slightest bit better than Riku at ninjutsu, but Riku prided himself on being much better than Sora at taijutsu, and consequentially, they ended up turning everything possible into a competition. (This gave Leon-sensei many headaches, and in turn, gave Sora and Riku much practice pulling weeds.) It wasn't long before the rivalry turned into a strange sort of friendship, which eventually turned into a stranger but closer bond (Kairi liked to call them 'best friends' at that point), which eventually developed into an even stranger sort of relationship. Kairi was stunned at the news - she admitted to having feelings for Sora and a small crush on Riku - but ultimately supported them with a bright smile.

☆ It was two years after graduation when Team Leon decided they were strong enough to enter the Chuunin Exams. They made it to the third round as a team, but in the end, only Riku made it to the finals; though he won, easily and impressively, he flat-out refused to be promoted to Chuunin without his friends beside him. Sora and Kairi, after a considerable amount of yelling at Riku for being stupid, promised to work harder and definitely make it to the third round next time.

☆ But there were larger things going on, as well. The precise circumstances of Sora's family's fall had been absolutely forbidden by the Hokage to be mentioned, so of course, it was inevitable that Donald would accidentally let slip one day that Sora had once had a twin named Roxas. More curious than ever, Sora pressed for more information, and was eventually led to the knowledge that his family had been murdered, by a group of S-class missing-nins who called themselves the "Organization"; they had spared the infant twins, but had kidnapped Roxas for reasons that remained unknown. Sora immediately resolved that the moment he passed the Chuunin Exams and could consider himself strong enough, he would set out to find Roxas, as well as uncover the Organization's true motives and defeat them once and for all.

☆ Of course, getting thrown into another dimension put just a bit of a damper on his plans. Over 15 months in the Room of Requirement, under the sadistic rule of the Voice, brought to Sora some interesting developments in his relationships and his character. Though his primary hobby was refining his culinary skills, he also became a Game Master in a trade with the Voice, and became heavily involved in the Games inflicted on he and the others in the Room (much to nearly everyone's discontent, they were highly sexual in nature more often than not). His skills as a ninja gradually began to wear down from lack of proper training and lack of purpose, though he did overcome a few previous barriers. Love was a rollercoaster; Sora fell in love with one of his closer friends (if not his best friend at the time), a Riku from a place called Destiny Islands--and after a lot of questions and heartbreak, the two ended up with each other, and would remain together for the next 16 months. Finally, more than a year after his initial abduction to the Room, he and nine others of the remaining victims were released and given a starship to travel the multiverse with.

☆ Their first destination was his homeworld--which was initially a great idea, as they could use the opportunity to find a way to seal Xehanort's Heartless in Riku for good, as well as allow Sora and ninAxel to catch up with their roots and find ninRoxas. Things didn't exactly go as planned--Sora ran into a ninRiku who had never been taken to the Room, and instead had to deal with Sora's sudden disappearance and assumed death for more than a year. Upset by and guilty for the changes in his best friend, Sora decided to stay in Konoha for a couple of months in order to resolve things with Riku, not expecting the old spark to be revived possibly more fiercely than ever, and complicating his relationship with cRiku.

☆ Eventually, he, ninAxel, and ninRiku managed to seal Xehanort as they had originally intended, but there were still looming issues that pressed ever closer. Sora decided to stay in his homeworld indefinitely instead of travelling the multiverse with the others, forcing a reluctant and painful break-up between he and cRiku. Now, he trains as much as possible, back at his original goal of helping to defeat the Organization--and finding his brother before it's too late.
