Okay I Sort Of Lied

This idea isn't another Carl Sagan fanfic, but it's sort of related. Because now that I'm a complete nerd who can't stay away from the offbeat science advocate groups on Facebook, that means I can't stop coming up with more material. I guess it's the same with all of the Pink Floyd I've listened to over the years, and how it directly inspires me to ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about the people on FB. As I said, the science groups are pretty offbeat. And the weirdest members aren't people like me who just create weird stuff for the sake of having fun, either. That's the worst part. If the real weirdos would just learn to find an outlet of their own that doesn't hurt anything or anybody, maybe then I wouldn't have to make my disclaimers on these things as long as they are. *headdesk*

Anyway, spamming the PF group? No, you wouldn't be spamming if you were putting up Floyd slash like the group asks for in the first place. If the group were called "Christian Moms for Decency" then maybe you'd get in trouble. Slash groups have so many lurkers who don't write anything, so I think that actually contributing would be encouraged -- especially in your case since your stuff is actually good. Besides, I find that Floyd and literacy go well together, so the fandom is going to attract readers and writers anyway. :-)

Jesus/Lucifer? Well, I don't see the problem there. Depends on who the top and bottom are, I guess. XD

But yeah, I might expand on the scientist fanfic thing now that it's been established that I'm not really hurting anybody. Maybe having Edison blackmail Tesla will be the next project. Who knows?

As for PF, though, I'm sure that the only thing keeping tabloids from printing that kind of thing as "fact" is that Roger doesn't like them. He's already done a FB update in the past (I think he's since been advised to stop updating his own Internets.) against Rupert Murdoch himself, saying he has too much power over the minds of the British public or something. Whatever it is, it sounds like something out of "Citizen Kane" where... oh shit, that's perfect! I need to write that one down.
