They usually start out at $10 an hour, but because they really liked me in the interviews and I have a lot of retail experience, they'll start me out at $12 ( Read more... )

Well, at least it's not Wal-Mart. It really WOULD be selling your soul if the offer was with Wal-Mart.

Here's a good deciding factor: is Target offering you benefits? I don't know if I missed that sentence somehow, but I didn't see that they were... I honestly think the addition of benefits like health insurance and such makes up for the few-dollars-an-hour loss. If they're both offering benefits however, I'd say go with Target. It wouldn't be "selling your soul", and you wouldn't even have to think of it as a permanent thing... just something to get you going until something better comes along.

As long as you don't turn into one of those kiss ass nerds that just wants to make their company happy and all that shit, I don't think you'll be losing the punk rock ethics (which I would feel stupid tying as well, but hey it's what we are...). You'll still be Sandye and you'll still be true to thine self <3 If moving out is what you need to do to be happy, and you can be happy at Target, then you know what you need to do. I know I would be very torn in the same position too so my advice can't be that pertinent, heh.

I hope everything works out for you. Whatever you choose will be fine darling- and if not you can always leave!
