Canadian whiskies are just too sweet for me. But I usually use Crown Royal as the standard for Canadian whiskies, which is pretty sweet. I just like Bourbon because a) it originated in Kentucky and b) has a thicker, stronger presence on the palate (sp?). Not quite as sweet.
