Rather a lot of links in this post

I backed up my LJ onto LJBook. It's 405 pages long and rather plain to look at, but eminently searchable and even has a table of contents. If you believe in backups* and put a lot of your life into LJ, it is a good idea. Also, it's free.

Wow, coincidentally I was just thinking about that very passage earlier today, thinking I should go find the exact quote. It is one of my favorite parts of The Little Prince.

I had just been thinking to myself how silly I'd been to put the only copy of what passes for my diary on a website that someone else controls (and can take away). Backing it up is perfect. Thank you.

there is also this: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=8

I'm not sure how useful that is unless you intend to write a computer program to read it again, though.

actually, that's next to impossible to use.

It downloads only a month at a time, in an unreadable format, and without comments? Wow.

I love the Little Prince, especially that part. Though reading that quote out of context of the whole book makes me realize how much an organic part of the whole book that section is. It also reminds me that I have a huge crush on your livejournal and I'm glad it's safely backed up and will never die.

Dude, do you want a copy of it? I can mail it to you.

I have several copies already. But if I had one from you it would be special, it would be the only copy of the little prince I had that reminded me of robots.

Oh, I'm sorry. I meant an emailed copy of my livejournal. Guaranteed less poetical and insightful! Also it has omitted some images seemingly at random, which confuses me.
