Yesterday, rollick began her own version of the interview meme. I asked her one question and then another. I'll answer her questions later. For now, I want to write about my reaction to these two bits from her answers:

you expect people to be more revealing, more giving, or more inquisitive than you are

and

I often feel like no one pays any attention to other people whatsoever.

I understand what you mean by that.

I mean the nuance of this in the same way, although it will seem off-topic: When I'm worried about what people think of me, I've come to remind myself that they're often not actually thinking much about me at all because people are so self-absorbed that they mostly just pay attention to the world as it relates to them.

Sometimes I think that good company means finding someone who is in a "window" of being open, revealing, or receptive at the same time that you are. Sometimes I feel like we often miss each other's "windows."
