Clearly you need to learn Domestic Short Hair. It's a fairly simple language, for all that it's a tonal one. Most of the words mean "feed me," "play with me," "you aren't paying nearly enough attention to me, house-ape," or "no, seriously, FEED ME."

Though due to slurring, drunken Short Hair might be harder to understand, and might involve phrases such as "When did you acquire a rotating ceiling, and why, house-ape? I do not see the need for such a thing."
