Obama endorsement

I've had the experience of my favorite candidate dropping out of the Democratic primary race twice this year, but I still feel like there's a pretty big difference between my third choice, Barack Obama, and my last choice, Hillary Clinton. Also damning to Clinton is the fact that she voted for, and Obama voted against the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment, which declared that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was a "terrorist organisation" in the eyes of the US Senate. While it surely is by any reasonable definition of terrorism (i.e. one that recognizes the capacity of state as well as non-state actors to commit terrorism), this amendment seemed clearly to me to be a case of beating war drums on Iran. Granted, the fact that Clinton voted for this amendment doesn't necessarily mean that she would bomb Iran if she got the presidency, or that Obama wouldn't. But I totally agree that Clinton seems far more willing to do ethically indefensible things to avoid seeming "soft on terror" politically.

Agreed! Moreover, Obama has a deep understanding of the power of transparency to reduce corruption in politics, and to do so by putting more power in our hands. Parts of this, like his plan to have the health care deliberations on CSPAN have gotten into the MSM (though the significance of this is underrated--partially, I would contend, because pundits don't like to think about people actually following the nitty-gritty of policy; it would deprive them of a job). But a respect for the power of sunlight as a cleanser can be found throughout his policies; in particular, his Tech Policy. Agency Wikis; Government data searchable online, and always in universal, open file formats, public comments and online town halls on legislation...who else talks about these things?
