That was what prompted me to read her other books. It was really amazing, as good as the books, and did some great things with the cartoon medium. It essentially had music videos in it, for instance. It also often kept her drawing style very precisely, but became much more detailed in dream sequences, which was cool.

hey, you seem to have read lots of super awesome theory books lately. want to help me with a CAS honor proposal? You do? Sweet. Any thought on readings on contemporary US citizenship and/or identity theory/formation?*

*the jumping off point is the Real ID Act; it's basically to allow me to research anything contemporary and political that I want to :)

am very jealous of your reading list and time availability/work ethic, whichever is responsible.

That sounds like material I know absolutely nothing about, but I'd be happy to talk about your ideas via whatever medium you like. I have a few thoughts on identity formation as it relates to the internet, but I got most of them from danah boyd and they probably have little connection to the Real ID Act. I think my reading lately has mostly been about political theory, sexuality, and social computing.

So I don't think I'm familiar with the kind of theory you're looking for, but you're welcome to bounce ideas off of me anyway.

So I just bought the Ethical Slut, but it's been really hard to read, mostly because I'm already sex-positive and they spend a lot of time on that. It's also hard to apply to my life since I'm more concerned and interested in learning about multiple romances than multiple sex partners. I'm curious what you thought of the book.

I really liked it, but I read it with continuous partial attention, more or less, mostly while hanging out with friends, eating, etc. I also skipped around a bit, so I read the whole thing but not in order. It sounds to me like you should skip to part 2; part 1 is basically the sex-positivity stuff, while 2 is more about social skills. Maybe start with the chapter "Sluts in Love" to put the romance stuff front and center.
