Did either of the Swamp Thing books have the Rite of Spring chapter? It apparently blew everyone's minds back in the day, so I'm curious about your thoughts.

I've been wondering if I should add World War Z to my list. I also saw the author speak at Brown in October. He's pretty funny, if a tad arrogant, and quite smart.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Rite of Spring is in Love and Death. If I recall correctly, I thought it was one of those Alan Moore stories that's a little too self-indulgent and wrapped up in being weird rather than in the story. I feel the same way about Promethea. It was still good, though, and I can see how it stretched the boundaries of comics and all that.

World War Z is really clever. You'd probably enjoy it.

World War Z is good speculative fiction in the classical sense of the word. However silly the concept of a zombie plague is, I think there's a good chance that people would respond to it basically as they did in that book.
