I know it seems daunting, but keep it up. You will be much happier in the long run when they finally realize you mean business. I will be pulling a double shift next week, I'm going into one of classes that sounds like yours, only my kids are 4 and 5. I will be working in there 3 mornings next week, then working in my own class. It will be interesting, to say the least.
Keep us the Awesomeness, they will respect you for it one day. I promise.
Holy Cow! I have always had a healthy respect for teachers as I've had a few very good ones in my life that have played a significant role in who I am today, but wow, you just made those notches of respect go up ten fold.
Hang in there, Kezza. Even though it sounds like your class is a handful, it also sounds like the children are beginning to realize you mean business and won't put up with their shenanigans. Your friends are all routing for you and know you'll eventually whip your class into the shape you want it in. I hope you'll get some help for your NEP kids soon to make the situation better for all of you.
