Wonder Girls | Yeeun-Centric | Prompt #4 [1/2] anonymous November 13 2011, 02:55:08 UTC
Yeeun thought that New York City would get a little cooler when it rained. There would be less people outside braving the torrential rain; there would be less of that massive overwhelming sense of people pressing down upon you ( ... )

"Margarita?"

It's a little early for alcohol, Yeeun thought ruefully, as she turned towards the voice. Yeeun deduced that the owner of that voice was also the owner of this shop, apparently a flower shop. His mouth kept on moving and sounds kept on coming out of it, but Yeeun didn't understand any of it. This wasn't a new experience, but a cocktail of panic and worry and frustration and anger at her inability to comprehend filled her stomach. Yeeun was fairly good at English by now, so why couldn't she understand ( ... )

this is reference to her song isn't it?

i've always wanted to see a yeeun centric...it must be hard being someone as talneted as her, all cooped up in a city of big dreams knowing she's lost quite a big portion of her aspirations being there.

ty for writing this!

It actually didn't start off being inspired by her song, but it ended up just fitting so perfectly! Yeah, Yeeun has always struck me as this fascinating combination of determination and dreams and the whole situation of being thrust into the States must have been hard for all of the girls. Thank you for reading, anon!

F.cuz, JinJun, prompt #4 (1/2) anonymous November 13 2011, 02:56:16 UTC
written as a kinda lame birthday present. ♥

It happens on a rainy Friday afternoon in early July; Yejun stumbles into his life and doesn't stumble back out again. He's soaked to the skin from the rain that pours down and half ducks, half falls against Jinchul, keeping close in order to stay under his umbrella. "Hi," he says brightly, as if invading the personal space of strangers is a perfectly normal thing to do.

"Uhh," Jinchul replies and eyes him warily. He doesn't have the best track records with strangers getting too close to him.

"I'm wet," Yejun says.

Jinchul raises an eyebrow. "I can see that."

"It's raining," Yejun adds emphatically ( ... )

Yejun isn't like anyone Jinchul has ever met. Yejun says he's an artist; he paints on Jinchul's walls when he's bored and pays unfamiliar songs on Jinchul's guitar late at night when he can't sleep. Yejun says he doesn't have anywhere to go, not anymore, and Jinchul believes him because there's something infinitely sad in Yejun's eyes when he says that. Yejun sleeps in catnaps of thirty minutes and is awake all night. Yejun can spend hours sitting completely still and then refusing to sit still for even ten seconds for the next two days. Yejun can show up at Jinchul's workplace and drag him out and convince him that taking a road trip for the next week and a half is a great idea. Yejun lives in the moment ( ... )

It has to do with some kind of check-in problem.

They're headed back to Korea, Christmas Eve's eve, for the year-end shows, and since it was really on the sudden notice of a day and a half, they'd been placed on an overbooked flight that the managers had somehow weaseled through so that the seven of them were first on the waiting list; further connections dropped them on the actual flight, but their baggage, well, you might as well forget about that, the concierge had said with uninterested eyes ( ... )

And it isn't that sleeping with Woohyun in an airport isn't okay; Sunggyu's slept in far less comfortable places than airport benches; but sleeping with Woohyun in an airport with no one but other forlorn-looking-passengers-that-aren't-Infinite-members isn't okay.

“They're going to starve to death,” Sunggyu says, lying with a fleece blanket over his stomach. Woohyun rolls up against the bars underneath the chairs; he'd given Sunggyu the bench that day, as long as they switched the next day, and Sunggyu is secretly planning to not let that happen, having run through a list of nearby hotels with a native when Woohyun had gone to the bathroom or something.

“Relax,” Woohyun replies, his voice muffled. “They'll get take-out or something. You're not their actual mom.”

Needless to say, Sunggyu tosses and turns and can really only think about them, whether Myungsoo is getting along okay, who the member is that's playing his own mother-role, and fuck, he'd forgotten to remind Sungjong to call his parents back, and that just makes things ( ... )

“I feel gross and disgusting,” Woohyun says, examining himself in the bathroom mirror early the next morning, Sunggyu standing beside him less than a bit impressed.

“That's redundant,” Sunggyu says, and Woohyun looks at his reflection in the mirror with mild contempt.

“I'm not leaving this bathroom until I stop feeling gross and disgusting,” Woohyun says, and Sunggyu rolls his eyes, knowing that it's bait that he can't help but take, dropping his satchel onto the counter and fishing out his limited, mind you, supply of face-wipes. “Thank you,” Woohyun sings in response, and Sunggyu doesn't think he has the willpower to open his mouth without spatting some kind of insult at Woohyun.

“So, what are we doing today?” Woohyun continues.

“Doing,” Sunggyu says flatly.

Woohyun freezes mid-wash. “Don't tell me we're just going to linger in the airport for the next day or two-”

“Or three, or four,” Sunggyu replies, letting out a too-long repressed sigh. “We've been here for a month and a half, and you're saying there's still things ( ... )

“Surprise,” Sunggyu says when they leave the taxi after walking about two kilometers to even find civilization enough to cue one. They stand in front of a grand hotel, Sunggyu having the sudden compulsion to splurge at the last minute, directing the taxi driver instead to a five-star hotel near the airport. There's a fountain across the driveway from the trillion sets of doors that greet them, and Woohyun seats himself on its edge, dazed.

“You mean you'd planned on staying in a hotel the whole time?” he says.

“Uh, yeah,” Sunggyu answers.

“The cost?”

He shrugs. “They'll reimburse me.”

Woohyun turns to him with wide, incredulous eyes. “What “Yeah, they said they'd pay me back for all expenses,” Sunggyu repeats, and Woohyun frowns, then scowls, then twists his face into some kind of expression that does nothing but amuse Sunggyu ( ... )

Sunggyu dreams of Sungjong that night, at the studio and on the phone with his parents, happily chattering away as the squeaks of Howon and Dongwoo's shoes nearly drown him out. Sungyeol's practicing “Be Mine”'s choreography, and Sunggyu watches him from his place in the corner, shouting out constructive criticisms that Sungyeol doesn't seem to hear. So Sunggyu stands, marches over to Sungyeol, and puts a hand on his shoulder, but instead of his force stopping Sungyeol, Sungyeol continues to dance, tugging Sunggyu with him in all sorts of directions, Sunggyu's heart doing somersaults in his chest, and not the good kind, either ( ... )
