I think, in the last X years, I've tried every weight-loss eating plan out there. As a result, I have some number of books from the various plans taking up space in my universe. I am getting rid of them all

I believe very strongly in synchronicity of various sorts. For some reason I had set aside "I wish I were thin, I wish I were fat" Have you read that one? If not, I'll send it to you. Hugely valuable book.
I haven't read that no. I've read a few good ones though. Honestly I need to go buy a few. I tried getting self help books out of the library but you really need more time with them than you can have from the library.
My number one fave though - Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink. Not even a self help, it's more a sociological study of eating behaviors. It's eye opening stuff.
If you're still using the one you talked about, I'll get one from the library to check out, if not - I'd love to read it. Thanks!
I rather liked "Why French Women Don't Get Fat", the only weight-loss book I have ever read (audiobook from the library). However, I can save you reading it because it summarizes nicely in two sentences: "This author has a strange fetish for leek soup. Other than that, eat a foods that taste good, in sensible amounts."
Works for me. (Leek soup isn't bad -- they serve it a lot in the Netherlands. But I have no desire to eat nothing else for three days to shock my system.)
