Note from
alycewilson: This is KFP's entry for LJ Idol, Week 13, with the topic, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." We talked about how hope is like wishes, which inspired this tale. This week, he wanted to tell a whole story with one picture.
Listen to KFP read his entry!
There was a factory-line robot, and he had a wish. His wish was to be able to move around to other places besides factories. So he wished to go to the beach. He forgot he was bolted to the factory floor, so he could never go to the beach.
Then he decided to ask, "Can you unbolt me and put me on a truck so I can go to the beach?" One of the workers heard him and said yes. And he finally got to go to the beach.
THE END
At the top of the page are the initials "K.F.P." in red, looking like they are on a metal plate. Next to the letters is a yellow and black robot arm.
The main drawing shows a yellow factory robot, which is essentially one jointed yellow arm with a claw at the end. It is bolted to the floor with black bolts. On the top of the robot arm, below the claw, is a blue rectangle with two small black eyes and a little black smile. In a thought bubble above the robot is an image of the robot arm lying on a beach towel under a red-and-white striped umbrella, soaking up the sun's rays.
As always, the artwork and words are by KFP, and the description is by
alycewilson.
