Overcast and rainy in the Bay Area today (and all weekend, according to the forecasters). It was gorgeous earlier in the week.

As a rule of late, we welcome rain in Houston. We had I think two years of drought, killing trees and doing all sorts of other damage as well. I'm not sure that we are technically out of the drought, but we have been having some rain.

Though, there are moments when I wish it wouldn't rain, but it is hard to be grumpy about it when the choice is dead trees. My magnolia needs to be brutally trimmed due to drought damage.

But today seems cool (for Houston) and clear, and I like that.

Yes, today actually felt like fall -- early fall, when you still don't need a jacket but it's not warm enough for shorts.
