i've had a bit of interest in the "outside" world, so i thought, for the sake of my roommate, that i would pretend that interest carries over here and wax about my rather uncommon (as i know it) ailment.

in other words...

...there be rambling behind this cut... )

If only there was something I could do, or say, that might make it all go away. -cuddle- I am so sorry this is happening to you. It's just not at all fair.

I hope this drug works wonders and/or miracles for you.

Love also for Mom.

Next week, I solemnly swear that I will mail off these scarves, just in time for spring thaw.

you know, fair is sort of a subjective idea. i mean, i'm lucky enough to have the means to find out what's wrong with me and procure a treatment to make me better. there are entirely too many people out there that can't do that.

i only mention the pain because it was a very great teacher. i am humbled, and, i hope, properly thankful for all that is good in my life.

like you.

i will wear the scarf all summer long, even if they try to commit me.

Hi, Kim!

So sorry to hear of your pain, but it's great you got a diagnosis - that's the first step to getting better. I'm also taking Humira - have been on it for just over a year and it has helped me greatly! I started at twice a month, but went to 3 times and now finally weekly to get better results. It has cleared the P on my hands completely, reduced the P elsewhere, and greatly improved the arthritis. Just 2 years ago I was bedridden - today I just returned from a 6 hour car trip after a lovely week at the beach!

You are not exaggerating when you describe the pain as "breathtaking!" You might want to check out our online support group for people with psoriatic arthritis at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/PsoriaticArthritis. You will find lots of useful practical info there about minimizing drug side effects, tips for self-injecting comfortable, coping with common everyday problems, etc.

Keep your chin up!
