the movie is better (to me) in so many ways. i've actually been remiss, and never read the book, so it's a little disappointing. most: the sequence of events is a little different (i could have gotten over that, if the movie's pace wasn't just shy of perfect), hawkeye's still a brave sucker, but pessimistic and a little whiny, heyward (a much more agreeable character) loves alice, cora and uncas fall for each other (magua still kills uncas, but only after cora is killed by another huron; hawkeye kills magua; heyward and alice seem to live happilyish ever after).
it was kind of weird to read the comic, adapted most faithfully from the actual novel, and be muttering "no, that's wrong," all the time.

But it can't compare with moving men running fast with great music. RAWRS!
But still! AWESOME!
