[EDIT: i...uhm...edited the review. old, irrelevant information is struck through, and new information is in double brackets. it'll be my first and last revision, i think, because i'm finding new and wonderful (and not so wonderful) things each day, and i'm losing interest in keeping track of them all (these past two weeks have been pretty rough ( Read more... )

If you haven't seen it already: Fun with horses in AoC. ^_^

It all looks somewhat interesting, but pay-to-play and weekly server maintenance and several reports of glitchy-ness make me a lot less inclined to try it out.

that's just awesome. i'm very much looking forward to getting a mount!

i'm not exactly sure about the pay-to-play feature, though. it appears to me that that only becomes an issue after level 20, which means, if i understand things correctly, that you can play the solo campaign for free. the barachan isles are of a decent size, and with four classes with three professions each, i imagine you can spend a good amount of time there before you get bored.

and, from what i understand, the glitchiness is getting better. i was talking to a guy who said that, as of just two weeks ago, it was nearly unplayable. it's definitely not anywhere near that bad now.

long story short, i'd absolutely recommend it if you have the system to support it. even with the random spasms, it's hella-fun to play.

yeah, the requirements are a little steep, but if you can ever manage it, like i said, i highly recommend it. i didn't get too far into wow to make a fair comparison, but... no, wait. maybe that says it all right there. i didn't get too far into wow.

and, i've been around in gw since beta. i used to play all the time, but then i had a job awhile ago, so i've only been making random appearances every now and then. i'm a jinx!

[i need more sleep, evidently. geesh.]

oh, geez, no worries at all. i'm pretty horrible at alliance, myself. i think i can count my contributions to alliance chat on my two hands.

i'll definitely keep an eye out for you. and, when they finally get around to implementing the guest keys, i'll try and snag one for you if you haven't already gotten the game!

I'm somewhat restricted in time now that I'm actually attempted to join the human race - or just study it for a while - so I've very reluctant to be tempted by something that will undoubtedly consume every wake moment and probably fail all my units.

I'm also pretty damned sure my computer would need some MAJOR upgrades to handle something like that.

Money? Yeah, I'm working pretty hard toward getting a roomie to take the pain out of that department.

But DAMN! I WANT to play this game! I think I will need to 'work something out' in the near future (after roomie arrives and I've got a handle on studying). Gellan looks teh yum!

Keep me apprised! <3

school, firewood, and food are definitely more important than gaming. that said, i can't tell you how much i think you'd love this game. so, here's to hoping you get a roomie (other than me) soon, so you can start scraping together some cash! ditto for you on the guest key.

[EDIT: just to say, the pictures do him no justice. i have become utterly ridiculous where he's concerned.]
