Challenge: [307]: Crossover
Title: Blending In
Word Count: 580
Notes: No spoilers, and you don't really have to be familiar with Assassin's Creed (other than knowing that the stranger in this piece is an assassin).

hell do you think you're doing? Don't you know how dangerous it is to walk around like a clown?"">

Sora narrowed his bright blue eyes slightly against the sand and the sharp, intruding sunlight, surveying the area. From all the worlds that they had visited so far, this one was by far the most crowded one. There were people everywhere on the streets. Women were carrying big, earthen pots, and the houses, made of stone, all had a wooden ladder. Only the sound of carriages broke through the loud chatter of the townsfolk.

This town looked so old and-

"Whoa!"

Before Sora realized what happened, someone or something roughly dragged him into a dark alley. For a fleeting moment, he thought that it was another Nobody, ready to rip him into pieces with its claws. If he hadn't brought his Keyblade in front of him in defense, he would have been stabbed with a ridiculously sharp-looking knife that the stranger had been hiding in his sleeve.

"What the-" he started, utterly perplexed, but the stranger in light-grey robe interrupted him impatiently.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? Don't you know how dangerous it is to walk around like a clown?"

His gaze shifted from Sora to Donald and Goofy, as though he was contemplating whether to kill them right then and there or leave them be. There was something extremely intimidating about this man, especially because of his strange accent and the fact that his ring finger was amputated.

"What do you mean?" Sora asked, hoping that no one had heard the slight quaver in his voice.

The man let out an exasperated sigh that indicated how impatient he was getting. "You and your friends are too obtrusive. If the townsfolk gets suspicious, you're as good as dead."

Not to mention that they were putting his mission in danger too this way. Was he blind? Didn't he see how many people had stopped doing their daily business just to be able to stare at the weird trio? Someone here needed a little lesson in blending in…

"Oh…"

Sora's Keyblade dematerialized and he scratched the back of his head sheepishly, not sure what to do about the fact that they were standing out too much.

"Donald, could you…?" the Keyblade's Chosen One started.

Donald only had to snap his fingers to give the three of them a dark-grey robe that matched the strange man's.

"Is that better?"

"Yes…" the man replied slowly, not sure if he should be impressed with what Donald did, or highly creeped out.

"I'm Sora by the way. This is Donald-" He pointed at the duck, "And Goofy."

"…Altaïr," the stranger replied after a while, though it was obvious that he still didn't trust the trio.

Sora tried not to take it too personal. After all, some people just were incredibly suspicious like that.

"Now be on your way, before anyone sees us together," was the next thing Altaïr said.

"Yeah, that would be horrible," Donald muttered sarcastically, but Goofy gave him a warning look.

"Okay… Take care then, Altaïr," the brunet spoke, before turning around (hoping that the knife wouldn't find its way between his shoulder blades) and walking away with his friends.

"What a weird guy," Sora said as soon as he was out of earshot.

He wasn't easily scared, but Altaïr… He was a different story. He'd made Sora think that he wouldn't let them go so easily.

Little did he know that the same pair of eyes that had found them first, were following their ever move from now on…
