Word count: 308
Notes: Again, knowledge of Org. XIII members is a plus, but not required; no spoilers; slightly dark

There really wasn’t much for her to do when she got there. All of the chaos and destruction she could have hoped for had already been taken care of courtesy of those snot-nosed little brats. Broken windows gaped from countless buildings; shattered pieces of multi-colored glass lined the streets; and there was even the occasional fire set by some budding young arsonist. Axel would have been proud

Honestly, there was enough adolescent delinquency here to warm the heart of many an Organization member, if they had had any. But when the heartless showed up - that was when the real fun began.

Another peal of delighted laughter floated out over the air as one of the donkeys gave a terrified shriek, kicking frantically at the slithery black things that had cornered it, before one of them finally sank its claws into the child-animal’s haunches. Her face twisted into a grotesque mimicry of a grin, eyes alight with malice and cruelty while she did absolutely nothing - nothing but sit back and watch.

“You know,” a lazy voice drifted over her shoulder from the nearby shadows, “If I didn’t know any better, I might say you were enjoying this.”

She snorted and ignored him, continuing to watch the destruction of this particular world unfold. He may be her superior, but not by enough to warrant any real respect. She figured the feeling was mutual.

“Come to join the party?” she asked with a sneer. “Or are you playing errand boy today?” There was a chuckle.

“Who, me?” Feigned innocence. “Nah. I’m just here for the show.”

Satisfied with his answer, neither of them said anything more until every last heart had been rent from its owner and there was nothing left to take. Stepping into the portal, she had to admit - this job definitely had its perks.
