Of course he stepped out into the middle of a storm.

Okay, so it wasn't really a storm persay, but it would be, and soon. The sky was a dark, foreboding grey, and the wind whipped and pulled at his cloak and the slate-colored fringe of hair that normally hid half of his young-looking face.

Raising his head, the Sixth member of Organization XIII reached out with his senses, searching for a trace of his target.

There it was.

Zexion took off, stalking northward -- towards the storm, naturally -- continuing to keep track of the scent. Darkness laced with the sense of the calm before a typhoon. Not that it helped, seeing as that was practically where Zexion was at the moment anyways ( ... )

Even after all this time... he couldn't believe it. Even after traveling between worlds for what seemed like an eternity, fighting heartless, making new friends, wielding the keyblade...

"It's no use..."

He couldn't believe Riku was evil.

"That girl has lost her heart. She cannot wake up."

It wasn't Riku. This... thing talking to him, in that voice... no matter what it looked like, it couldn't possibly be Riku.

"The keyhole cannot be completed, so long as the last princess of heart still sleeps..."

The ominous voice continued, saying things Sora could barely comprehend.

"Whoever you are, let Riku go! Give him back his heart!"

Give back my best friend.

"Don't you see yet?"

"It is I, Ansem. The Seeker of Darkness!"

And there it was. Riku... was gone.

-Come on, Sora. You know what must be done.-A flash of light and a clang of two blades, and furious blue eyes snarled up at shocked aquamarine ( ... )
