Rikku stood in the ocean, water up to her shins, her hands placed loosely on her hips and head tilted slightly as she stared at the horizon. A smile graced her lips as her thoughts wandered, until a sudden push from behind knocked her off her feet and sent her tumbling not-so-gracefully face first into the water

Barret needs attention. D:seph_chaserApril 23 2006, 02:06:30 UTC
Barret frowned, chucking a rock out into the sea. He was currently situated on his dock, the one that he built, and rebuilt, numerous times after a certain silver haired, pansy ass had destroyed it. Barret had really lost count of the number of times his dock had been destroyed; it was almost a ritual really. Build a dock, get it burnt down. Rebuild it? Woops, there's a fire!
He muttered something about "pathetic, lazy-ass pansies" and sat down at the edge of the dock. His pensive mood (or, what was considered a pensive mood for Barret) was interrupted by a loud splash and shouting a little bit away from him. He scowled.
"WHATCHOO DOIN' OVER THERE? CAN'T A DUDE GET SOME RELAXIN' TIME?" he shouted over at Rikku and Tidus and that annoying girl in the yellow dress. Actually, the only one who wasn't annoying was Tidus. He was a good kid. Hung around with some mighty annoying broads though. Honestly, why couldn't he have chosen friends who were less prone to kleptomania and/or excessive amounts of giggling

It took Barret all of two seconds to smell the smoke. It also took him all of two seconds to decide it wasn't worth trying to stop whatever ingenius plan Sephiroth had come up with, and it was much more time-efficient to just go straight onto the chase-the-white-boy around the island. Because it would end up there anyway, and Sephiroth would just try to burn down the dock tomorrow, even if he somehow managed to save it today.
So without a second thought, Barret jumped up, taking one look at what Sephiroth had used-- with a look of utter shock when he realized it was, well, a coconut BRA, on either side-- before practically sprinting off of the dock, just as fire overtook it. Again. Damnit.
"GET BACK HERE, BOY! IMA KICK YO' PANSY WHITE ASS!" Barret shouted, easily spotting the silver ponytail sticking up from behind a rock and running towards it, hoping to catch the boy before he got away. He always got away. It would be nice to catch him at least once. Seriously. It was beginning to affect his manliness, the fact that he couldn't

Re: And yes! I finally did, too! XDDsefeeeeerosuApril 27 2006, 00:18:30 UTC
Sephiroth instantly popped his head up, his green eyes widening when he saw Barret. He thought he had found a good spot! He suddenly felt his head, and realized he had his hair up--now that was why. It added inches

Rikku and Selphie were giggling over the treasure map Tidus had drawn up when suddenly a strong cold wind blew through the treehouse they were sitting in. Tidus yelped, and Rikku's head jerked up in time to see the sky quickly grow dark, the horizon disappearing into a murky purple that swept across the water. Her eyes widened in terror.
"We've got to get out of here!" Tidus shouted, snapping Rikku out from her stare. She nodded, in a daze, as they scurried down the ladder, nearly jumping to the grassy ground below.
The treasure map they had been plotting over just moments before flew away unnoticed, carried off by the strong winds, as Tidus grabbed both girls by the hand and took off for the nearest shelter he could find. Rikku ran, looking back to see the quickly approaching storm overtaking everything in sight.
Near the rock wall of the island's tree fort, a small bush ruffled. The leaves shifted and parted to reveal a silver-haired head complete with two unusually green eyes. Carefully the child brushed his long locks from his face as he stood up from his hiding spot

The wind picked up then, and it was obvious that the speed would probably get higher with time. Barret was holding Vivi over his shoulder, looking down at Sephiroth. The boy was obviously scared out of his mind; or at least, that's how he looked. Barret took one look at the boy's paler-than-normal face and he grabbed his wrist, dragging the boy after him. He had noticed another silver head farther down the beach, who he assumed was one Yazoo or Kadaj, since the kid's hair was longer. The other one-- Loz?-- had short hair. At least he didn't look like a pansy, even if he acted like one

Yazoo snapped his head in Barret's direction, nearly jumping from the yell. He hadn't realized the big kid there until he was right next to him.
Without argument he did as Barret commanded, kicking up sand as he stumbled to his feet. He snatched Sephiroth's arm by the wrist, pale fingers curled tight, and was easily propelled along when Barret went running again. Behind him, his long silver hair fanned out like a silk curtain whipped around by the wind.
Kadaj stood close by on the beach coastline, yelling about something or another. Yazoo was slightly surprised to see his brother on the beach...let alone outside, but didn't think about it for more than five seconds. His attention shifted from staring at the looming darkness over his shoulder to his sibling, yet he didn't call out. Yazoo talked when necessary, quiet by nature, but this time it wasn't his personality getting in the way
( ... )
Kadaj was rather impressed at his "yelling things" prowess. The words had barely left his mouth when two of his three older brothers came running up, along with a big kid that Mom had warned him not to play with and the quiet boy in a floppy hat who always sat alone at recess.
But Loz was nowhere to be found. Bleh. Now Kadaj would have to spend even MORE time in the cancer-causing sunlight to look for his missing brother. He just KNEW that he'd get one of those things that Mom always talked about...a mel...melalanoma?
"Yazoo! Sephiroth! Mom says that you need to come inside--"
He was too suprised to even cry out when his arm was suddenly (and painfully!) jerked forward and he found himself being dragged along with the other boys.

Kadaj sighed, kicking a little at the sand in front of him. He didn't really like being outside...it was hot and the sun made his skin all red. Maybe it was because of the fact his rather overprotective mother always kept him inside, convinced that her "fragile" (read: scrawney) youngest son would catch his death of cold (highly unlikely, given that the Islands usually had an average ambient temperature of eighty-five degrees), but the boy was much smaller and skinnier (and paler) than most of the other eleven-year-olds he knew.
Mom had wanted him to find his brothers and tell them to come inside. This was a rather special occasion, really. Usually she would have just stood on the balcony of the house and hollered, not wanting to jeopardize Kadaj's "weak immune system."
