Elena had gone to bed that night just like every other night. Kissed her mom, hugged her dad, took a shower, cursed the name of her seemingly perfect older sister and her snobbish Turk ways, pulled back the sheets, and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

The first thing she had noticed upon waking was that her head was no longer on the pillow...in fact, she was up-side down, draped uncerimoniously on a tipped-over rubbish bin and some wooden kegs.

The second thing she noticed was that it was raining, which irked her to no ends...especially since she was only in her nightgown. With no shoes.

The third thing she noticed were the black things. They popped out of nowhere and swarmed in masses of at least a dozen little shadowy blob...dealies...and could really cause damage unless you acted quickly. Still, when Elena started swinging around a two-by-four to save her extremely soggy skin, she noticed that the little black things exploded into a bunch of bright green orbs and (thankfully) some currency whose name sounded like a five year old with a crayon scribbled on the walls.

After exploding all of the black blobbies, Elena discovered that the name of this bizarre new place was "Traverse Town," and that her newly-won "munny" could buy her a jacket, some flip-flops and a gun from a trio of talking ducks in baseball caps who didn't even look old enough to cross the street on their own...much less sell dangerous firearms to shoeless minors with wet hair.

Ah, well.

The girl figured it was about...a day? Two days? since her arrival in this strange place, and she still hadn't any sleep. Out of the corner of her eye, a black shadow was beginning to materialize...

Elena cocked her pistol.

"Tch. Do these things ever go away?"

[OOC Note: Elena is about seventeen. Just so you know. :D]
