ambiguously?! How is this Ambiguous? volenteonolente May 19 2006, 03:30:15 UTC
Veld, meanwhile had showered one more time, yawning to himself and inspecting a new - at least he thought it was new - scar on his face. God something'd worked him over and he couldn't for the life of him, figure out what that thing was.

It better be dead by the time he did figure it out. The clothes that had been laid out for him were not, as one could be expected, well fitted. The shirt was far too narrow in the shoulders, and Veld' wasn't a particularly large fellow. He just slid his bloody jacket back on.

The pants, however, fit pretty well, and for that, Veld was happy.

Heading down the stairs he saw Highwind, puffing on a cigarette.

For some reason it made him think of Vincent. God he had a lot to apologize for. And he was turning into a broken record.

Hey, the Resistance members aren't too bright, okay? drinkyourtea May 19 2006, 03:43:53 UTC
"Mornin'," the blond greeted. He shifted the cigarette to one corner of his mouth before continuing. "Ready?" He might have asked the question, but that didn't mean he waited around for the answer. Veld assumed they were leaving when Cid simply stood and waved him along.

The morning air was chilly, but not terribly so; the sun was mostly hidden behind the buildings until closer to noon. Cid unconsciously pulled his jacket around him tighter to compensate, muttering some obscenity. He took a couple of steps before turning to the newcomer.

"Clothes or weapons, first?" he asked, but immediately second-gussed himself. He held up a finger before Veld could comment. "I'm thinkin'...clothes. C'mon. There's a shop right across the way."

Oh god, poor Leon. He's got two of them now. volenteonolente May 19 2006, 03:53:01 UTC
"Amazing deduction." Veld muttered, jamming his hands into the pockets of his jacket. He'd never been one to prance around with his chest bared to the world, unlike some of his comrades, and it felt strange being uncovered.

The wind pulled at his jacket, though it was buttoned, and the breeze at his hip reminded him that he needed to pull those pants up.

Veld was beginning to think he'd simply arrived in purgatory. Yup, that would have made sense.

...I took that sentence the ENTIRELY WRONG way... drinkyourtea May 19 2006, 04:00:13 UTC
Luckily Cid didn't hear Veld's comment. If he did, they might have a shouting match in the street. Really, it would just be an excuse to get grumpy and mean.

Instead the duo entered the tiny shop without incident. The clerk was sleeping with her head down on the desk, so after Cid lifted his eyebrows questionably he simply...shooed Veld right along to the clothes. "Go pick something before she wakes up and I have to pay for it," he grumbled, the smoke drifting lazily from his cancer stick.

Traverse Town was totally bursting with life this morning!
