They changed the name from "Codex Anathema" to "Lords of Madness". Because they're afraid the distributors won't pick it up because the name uses words that are too obscure ( Read more... )

They did something like that to the Michael Chrichton book, "Eaters of the Dead." When the book was rereleased at the same time as the movie version, its title was changed to that of the film, "The Thirteenth Warrior."
Now, honestly, which sounds cooler? "The Thirteenth Warrior?" No. "Eaters of the Dead" kicks ass. "The Thirteenth Warrior" just says to us, "This may involve a warrior, and he or she may be the thirteenth member of his group." "Eaters of the Dead" says "We will not only steal behind you and spill your life's blood in the night. We will also drink said blood, gnaw your rent flesh, and feast upon your brains for dessert using your skull as a handy desert dish."
