My Yuletide story just completely fucked with my head in a good way. I.e. in a…I should be writing Dom/Brian RIGHT NOW kind of way, which I guess is part of the awe and wonder of the season. Can I pimp it? Is that allowed

That Moroccan road trip looks like a blast. I used to have fun on a twisty, winding road like that on my motorcycle - but less mountainous and dry. The scenery does remind me strongly of the mountains above Mexico City, though - winding, crunchy surfaced roads with little or no guard rails between you and a steep drop. There was a lot more traffic, both foot and motorized on those roads though. You never knew when there'd be a family with a donkey or a flock of turkeys being herded to market around the next bend. *G* I'd make the trip with you any time.
I hope you and the mister are having a wonderful day. Mine is very restful.
I'd have welcomed your input navigating...Sean actually puked and I was left sans navigator pretty much guessing my way to Agadir. My poor baby.
No turkeys, but plenty of goats...we actually came up the other side of the pass (the opposite way the motorcyclist is going) and it is much greener and...steeper. Coming down, with very little traffic was more than a little fun. You and me could have been in the front going wheeeeee, while Sean kept his eyes closed in the back.
Seriously, not that I don't love riding a motorcycle but dry gravelly roads like that - I'm too chickenshit to try (I hate that feeling whne your tires slide in the gravel). I'd be happy to drive something curvy like that on asphalt tho, it looks wonderful :D
Sounds like you had a fab trip & Merry Whatever to you too \0/ Here in Sweden we celebrated yesterday so today was lots of leftovers and another day of feeling like a stuffed, but very pleased, turkey ;)
There was so much gravel on the first part of the road that it felt like we were hydroplaning. We actually drove in the opposite direction as this motorcyclist and....she stops well before the most dramatic bits. It was both terrifying and exhilarating, just what I wanted for Christmas.
That's got to be the best value I've ever seen for a roedelbahn...four minutes, whoa. Plus I've never seen one built like a monorail, that's so cool. I was biking in Austria this summer and I only saw the old fashioned kind.
It was totally one of those things that had been built up in my head (I've been wanting to do it since 2007) and I was thinking for the first two hours 'hey, this isn't that bad' and 'I can't believe people think this is horribly dangerous' and then all of a sudden, HOLY S***! This is the one road that Moroccans actually respect, i.e. they slow down and behave sensibly for a change.
However, I think you and Arcee would make quick work of it.
