fvwm... default obsd setup before you install ion. Note the faulty part of the LCD on my new T42...

A single dark (much better than bright) pixel out of 786,432 isn't so bad. My new LCD (I got a new one because of the bright spots that had appeared from the keycaps on the old) appears to have none, but ISTR a single stray sub-pixel that made a lot of things look purple.
