I have not read an Agatha Christie novel for a long while; mainly because I have already read a lot of her stories. However, I had still some of her translated stories that I bought years ago and never read. I decided to try one of these ( Read more... )

I've read a little Agatha Christie. I don't think I've read this one, though. :-/ Of those I've read, my favourite was "And Then There Were None".

I don't have this one, but its name is nice. I'll try to read it if I ever get my hands on it. :-)

I love me some Christie! I'm currently on a massive Christie-rereading binge :D. Well, re-reading... I think I read all her books, but in Dutch. So now I'm scouring the library for the English versions; it's like they're whole new books I haven't read! :P

I have no idea about the Arabic translation, but the Dutch was pretty decent, I think. My favorite Christie novel is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. If you haven't read that one, I highly recommend it and if I explain why I love it, you'll be spoiled ;)

Hehe. I could do the same and look in English, but then I'd lose those I have in Arabic. So I thought let me just use the Arabic ones, especially since I haven't read in Arabic in a long while.

I'm not saying the translation is bad. It's just that I'm pretty familiar with English that I can feel the English style in the Arabic test in a way I didn't in the past.

I do have The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I can't remember if I have read it or not though. I think I'll give it a try and see, and then we'll talk about why you love it. :P I think I'm going to love it since it has Poirot. I don't much like the stories that do not have him.

Agatha's books were my first English books I read. I ready over 50 of her books (she wrote 74 or something)!! So, that explains her and I being on first name basis! :P

The problem now is though...I don't remember which book was which, it was 16 years ago!! *sigh* My teacher had to get me off the books and had me read some classics like Pretty Women! bleah... hehehe

Oh, I saw that as a cartoon show when I was a kid. Also tried reading it a few months ago but stopped because it was way too dull. :P
