Park signs update

So, a few days ago I found the wording on some signs in a park annoying. There had been an attempted rape and the park managers' response was to put up notices warning women not to walk by themselves in the park. Since I object to being told where I can and cannot go, and being implicitly blamed for being attacked if I don't follow someone else's

Also, it's impressive that even if it's about something annoying, you took the time to explain WHY the original signs were so awful.

Well, first of all I want to stress that I didn't really do anything, just took literally <2 minutes to write out some pithy handbills and then blog about it. It was davinaj who got in touch with her friend, who apparently immediately saw why the originals were problematic, and they then spent the whole day emailing back and forth. All I've done is sit back and watch my inbox filling up.

Secondly, though, when I wrote the OP - which, again, took <2minutes - I thought it might make some of my friends laugh, so I didn't go into detail about what it was about the original signs that annoyed me. I probably should have done that first. I hope the follow-up post has done an adequate job of explaining briefly what it was about them that I found irritating.

Thank you! I should add, though, that it wasn't me who found the right thing, which was having a contact in New Scotland Yard and telling them about it. All I did was make some snotty signs and write an LJ post about it.
