More Original Webcomic Recs - great art plus magical and/or queer and/or historical AU stories

As mentioned in a previous post, I've been a devoted fan of Elan Meets Rafa, "a boy love webcomic with cat," ever since someone on my f-list recommended it, and I also loved another completely endearing opposites-attract m/m slash story, The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal. And then found the delightful Victorian magical world of Read more... )

I recognize quite a few of these comics =D I haven't read TJ and Amal yet because it's so long and I'd honestly rather read it in print. They just finished a kickstarter for an omnibus edition but I couldn't back it. Sad day lol

I never got completely caught up with Widdershins but the beginning was brilliant. I'm going to add it to my reading list! That and I'll check out the others. Thanks for the recs!

Oh, hi! I love Widdershins. That, Elan and Rafa, and Wilde Life are my favorites of the ones posting now. Wilde Life is really fun, thanks for pointing that one out!

Eth's Skin is pretty but only posts one page a week, so I don't get as involved.... And As the Crow Flies is updated very irregularly, as is All Night by bsabo, which seemed very promising but hasn't been updated since January.

Since I wrote this rec, the artist of Kyria has decided to "reboot it" and it seems she is interested in focusing on more sexually explicit stuff, which is actually not as interesting to me, so I've dropped that one and her other.

Prince of Cats (now complete) was really good too.

ETA: I forgot to mention Take Off! (now complete) and Godslave, both by Meaghan Carter, featuring kickass young women, dragon-racing (Take Off!) or fighting on behalf of a mythological Egyptian bun-dog (Godslave).

Prince of Cats is about small town high school kids dealing with their identities (many lgbtq) and relationships), thoughtful and good, characters ( ... )

I've seen Eth's Skin but I haven't read it. For some reason I'm not as curious about that one but I'm sure I'll get to it eventually and be at the edge of my seat waiting for updates soon enough. lol You've added to my ever growing reading list ;p

Let's see... I have a couple of favorites I'd recommend in a heartbeat:

Plume really stands out for me. The protagonist is spunky and fun (all the characters are, tbh) and the writing is fantastic.

Mokepon is also one of my absolute favorites. It's just so damn funny. lol But that might be nostalgia talking... Pokemon was my thing growing up and I still love it haha

Oh!! Demon of the Underground is amazing too. I highly recommend it. The world building is so unique and the protagonist, Pogo, has a telekinetic dick. No joke. lol He's, I think, one of the most memorable characters of all the webcomics I follow.
