Yaaay welcome back to the darkside! ;) I wouldn't be too worried, they were able to reactivate three accounts for us that hadn't been touched in 8 years. Hell I couldn't even remember how to spell the security question for one (I used something very odd and will never do that again, heh) and they still got it back for me. :D

Oh jesus, there's a security question? I'm DOOOOOO - okay, probably not. I emailed them around 7 EST, so it's probably still a couple of days out before I try to actually remember how the wizard front end worked.

At least it occurs to me that I have an iron-clad excuse for my character to have serious tropetastic amnesia. He was having some severe mental problems when I left ages ago, due to some shenanigans going on underneath Shard.

You might be surprised! It's probably after business hours for them now, but when I e-mailed them in the morning they had my account up within a couple hours.

Ooh that IS a good excuse, plus it can be part of where he's been for so long. Donte (cleric) babbled some stupid thing about being on a religious retreat/quest type thing, and Kywolf (ranger) said he'd been out in the wilds for a few decades. XD

I just stayed quiet for a couple of weeks until I got my bearings again. As for front ends - we decided to try Stormfront when we came back, it's pretty decent. Then I lost my mind and bought a popular third party FE (Genie) and have been going insane trying to set it up all week. :P

Hey, a ranger can always use 'fuck you, I was camping... for, like, a decade' as a completely valid excuse. They're rangers, it's what they do! And religion always has the desert 40 days-40 nights walkabout to rely on!

It's weird what I remember specifically and what I forgot. He was hanging out with an NPC, Liohe, a lot, and there was some demonic activity going on in Undershard. As usual, Khaman was drunk and stupid and got himself voices in his head because he went and touched the demon door like a red shirt in a Joss Whedon movie.

I had a GM who had a lot of fun messing with him for a good while. So, yeah, mental health retreat is go. :D

I'm running on Mac and would prefer to not boot into Win because I am lazy, but there's at least two of the front ends that work on that, so yay.

A couple months ago, I snuck from Theren (??) back to Crossing, but didn't manage to see anyone I knew. Then life got busy again, and I forgot to log in. I hate when that happens. There were some good times had in that world, eh?

I figured out cantrips, prediction, and I killed a rat or five. So he's at least up and mobile. Yes, his priorities are straight, I figured out predictions first. :P

OH! Plus one good thing about coming back right now is the spell preview is still active. So you can play with EVERY spell and figure out which ones you want when it ends. They're still fiddling with the magic system though, so some spells may get more or less powerful or cost more spell slots when they're done.
