So good news: Herman's film is showing first thing tomorrow. He could be up for nominations, but he's not going to win any awards. Apparently Watstein flat-out told this to him. Espinoza told us that Watstien made a rule stating that only films made by his students can be nominated and win. So basically Herman's film is by the best at this festival,but wont even be nominated for anything. This is the reason we decided not to fight to get Revenant and STFU: The Prequel into the festival.

Thats unfair, but Watstein has never been a fair man. That rule is the dumbest rule I have ever heard, but that rule appears to be around since day one.

Day one of this festival or all the festivals? This wasn't around for the first two festivals, as far as I know. "Keep Right" and "Echo Park Avenue" were not from his classes. Mantas, Tiuh, and Johnny weren't in his filmmaking class, as far as I know, and they were nominated for practically everything (and won a lot).

I'm pretty sure they were in his class, or at least Mantas and Tiuh were. I don't know, they had a close relationship with him. They even went and visited him last semester.

Watstein can go screw himself, if he wants to give awards only to the regurgitated tripe that his students splooge out of their lameholes, he should call it a Shitty School Film Festival for People with No Taste or Eyeballs.

Seriously, "you get awards because you're on C-track and you're in my class, congrats, (your movie sucked ass but I don't expect anything anymore)" is a great policy for teachers.

I really shouldn't have gone Thursday. So many bad movies...*Shudder* But then again I suppose thats true for every day.

Friday however, had some not-too-bad movies, and some gems like Ryan's random ass movie, and Angela's-I-don't-remember-what-the-fuck-it-was-about-movie-but-I'm-mentioning-it-out-of-obligation. (<3 Angela)
