Is your credit card still in its interest free period? If not, you could get a new one that has an interest free period on balance transfers and transfer over your outstanding balance. Alternatively, you should head down to the bank and see if they can help. They might be able to do you a low rate loan so that you can pay back what you owe. :)

I second foxypadawan.

I'm afraid you're going to need to be a bit proactive, even though it's going to hurt (cos I know how difficult it is to be proactive when you just want to curl up and make stuff go away).

Have you talked to them about minimum payments? Is that what they're refusing to talk about? Actually considering what catalogues like to charge in interest I do think taking a loan to pay off the debt if you can may be the best solution. Are you getting income support? If so, and have been for at least 6 months your best option for a loan in terms of paying it back will be the social fund/budgeting loan. It's interest free.

And then budget.
