Woke up yesterday in a total panic about money. There is no reason why I shouldn't be in a total panic about money 24/7, but fortunately my brain conspires to spare me, except in these periodic episodes

congrats on the client. a new gig usually makes me forget my problems for a while. maybe it'll help you switch gears.

Well, it's not a new client yet. I have to go through the whole tap dance of getting them to agree to hire me and pay me.

But it's a good company, a really nice man running it, and the money would get me back into the black. A few good months would beat back the debts to manageable proportions, and keep the phone and heat on.

As far as my gears go, I actually think they're in not-bad shape. This long, dark night of the soul has been productive, though it's gone on for an awfully long time. My hope is that it will turn into something else, some writing that is worth reading. We'll see...
