Vacation

I can't tell you how relaxing it is to have summer vacation. It's been great. I've only done a couple of work things, and they've been small. There hasn't been anything that's required brain-power or waking up in the morning. Yay, summer.

It's been a while since I've posted, but mostly because nothing exciting has been happening. It's been raining all month. It was sunny today, but we are having SUCH a storm right now. It's beautiful.

I am a serious raiding junkie in World of Warcraft. It's awful. I'm having a good time though. My guildies are awesome, wonderful, cool people. We're mostly all grown-ups with lives and stuff, and it's nice to meet people from far away.

Also this week, I got together with a friend I haven't seen since middle school! She lives two streets away now. And I went over expecting awkwardness, but it was awesome! She lived in Boston for a couple of years and worked for both the aquarium AND the zoo! How cool is that? I am slightly sad that I don't have cooler stories to share. I am pretty boring.

She's a teacher now, which brings the total number of teachers I know to ... very high. I attended a big family lunch today. It was good seeing the sister. In person and everything. Will probably try to head up that way lots this summer. :)

Also trying to put together trips places! Sister wants to take a trip that's just grown-ups, and another one where we bring the kid. That's cool. I'd like to do day-trips or something this summer. See places I don't always see. Stop being quite so lazy about everything.

That being said, I've been working on making a box for months and months now. I built the frame, I put the outside together, I've done a test to see how the inside is going to work.I'm thinking a lot about how to finish it. I want to have a piece of artwork done in time for the faculty show next semester. I haven't done any real artwork in years. I want this to be good. I'm slow, but full of hope.

Flasheart and I were talking about building a shelf unit, too. Maybe this is finally the summer when I get my own power tools. How cool would that be?
