Lengthy rant, beware.

I am a member of a clicking-game-based website, and we’ve got a clan going around Kingdom Hearts. A while ago, someone decided to have a clan-RP where you could either be a canon character or an OC. Woot, go in-character Xemnas!

...I have never rooted so hard for Xemnas before, by the way. Why do people like this exiiiist?

Also, when you start calling the protagonists of the game incompetent idiots, you know, the game you profess to like enough to RP in...you might have a problem.

Honestly, if you're looking for people to just bow down to your super special wonderful little snowflake of a Mary Sue original character, you're better off playing with friends. People who don't know you irl are even less likely to bend over backwards to let you take over an established canon/hierarchy, and expecting them to is just moronic.

Also? Coming in and saying "I like him when he's written completely OOC and benevolent-ish"? Oh my god. Again, you're coming into an established game--this doesn't sound like you're a fan of the game; it sounds like you're coming in and saying "I only like the games when the characters are completely different than how they're actually portrayed in game because if Xemnas is really a hard-ass then I can't take over!!"

This sort of thing is why whenever OCs joined my game I nerfed them and demanded revisions at least three times a piece in the app stage and banhammered all of them within about a month of joining.

Of course, I don't doubt those OC makers deserved it, but you make it sound like you do it indiscriminately.

The nerfing and revisions were quite necessary and no one has ever to date in the multiple years the rp existed presented anything that didn't call for both. They were all banned for godmoding, infomoding, and throwing tantrums.
