Does anybody else think it's a recipe for disaster when a very cute girl, who has clearly always been very attractive and known it, starts dating a guy who is not exceptionally smart, attractive, athletic, charming or wealthy and knows all of these things?

I have a very limited knowledge of chick flicks, but in the sci-fi version they all get eaten unless they have at least one cyborg body part and a shotgun.
