Why is everyone ranting about how horrible Hawaii Five O's become with it's thin plotlines and over the top obviousness? Did you guys not realize it was that last year too? Because I've never liked this show for being a good show. I'm sure I might get lambasted and probably hated by several on my very own f'list, unfriended by a few for this ( Read more... )

Except some of us were never watching it for the slash & never cared about Danny/Steve & don't even think they're "canon", so there. *g*

Not to me, they're not. To me, it's So Obvious that Danny is about as straight as they come AND thinks Steve is completely insane & wouldn't stick his dick anywhere near that man for a million bucks AND it's equally So Obvious that Steve has adopted Danny as a younger brother he gets to torture.

(Now, Danny & Chin flirt like mad, on the other hand. Or, at least, they did last season.)

I *never* watched it for the Danny/Steve - in fact, I kind of hate the pairing. But if a show gets even MORE incomprehensible and WORSE when it was already bad to begin with? Then yeah, man, no amount of Daniel Dae Kim running around in form-fitting jeans is going to save it for me.

Also, I watched it for the team interaction & so far, haven't gotten that. No team plus even worse inconsistencies and plots does not equal for a show I am going to stick with.

Ew, yeah, if you watch it for Chin every episode must be so disappointing. Want me to vet it for you? I could come and tell you how much DDK time there is, and if there's shirtlessness or anything interesting!

Yeah, team has gone down. The problem is that the person whose long long rant I read and everyone that said "exactly" to it, was about the unbeleivability of the plot and how lame it was when they tried to tug on your heartstrings... I'm like, this isn't new. this was true last year. This isnt' a "thing" this year they're trying. It sucked last year for those very same reasons. LOL.

Mainly I watch it for DDK, yes, and all of the hot Polynesian and Asian guys that show up. Although I'm getting precious little of that so far this season, too.

Mostly - so far, although I am giving them a few more episodes before I completely give up - H50 has just gotten stupider. And pretty will only take me so far. I already have one dumb show I truly enjoy - NCIS: Los Angeles - but they haven't forgotten it's all about the team & they haven't gotten any dumber & there's still plenty of Sam/G OTP love and Deeks/Kensi love to carry me through the dumb.

Aw, I'm so sorry you're not enjoying it as much! That really sucks. I guess I'm really glad I wasn't as invested in anything other than the pretty/shiny. LOL. You're not wrong about the dissolutionment of the team, and I AM aggravated at Steve and Danny (especially Danny) for not asking about and being pissed about Kono's being gone, but.... meh. Not enough for it to effect my enjoyment of it. Danny and Steve still give me giggles. I was also very distracted while watching the show though, because I tend to multitask when that show's on ( ... )

LOL. I do see the point Elandrialore made, wherein Team has been lessened because of Kono, but I guess I was really way way more here for the pretty Danny/Steve, because while team has lessened I seem to not be worried about it because clearly Kono is undercover and thinks she's helping them by doing so.. though, I'm kind of aggravetd with Steve and Danny for forgetting about Kono, but... not enough for it to tint my happy at their bickering!

Whereas Chin is my favourite, first and last and always. I was happy with the story arc he got last year, and I'm hoping something similar crops up for Kono. Not ready to give up yet!

ETA: apparently I have more to say.

Everyone was making angry noises at TPTB this time last year for not giving Chin enough to do. I was the only one - of the many people whose episode posts I follow - who was 100% sure they were setting him up for a season-long arc. And I was right, so I'm giving the writers the benefit of the doubt until at least mid-season. It's only the third episode, FFS!
