Rolling = Nap Trouble

Luke has now learned to roll well enough that he keeps himself awake when he should be sleeping. I guess he's so used to holding his head up during tummy time that when he rolls himself over in his crib he doesn't understand that he can just lay his head down to go to sleep. He's happy for a while and then the crying starts. I'm trying to let him ( Read more... )

I don't remember that one, but I do remember when Christopher started standing. He'd practice over and over in his crib. Sometimes he'd get stuck standing up and would cry for someone to come help him sit back down again, just to stand up... again. Then when he started walking he'd walk all around his crib and NOT SLEEP.

This too shall pass :)

Oh no... Bean's just started sleeping better. Then we'll have to contend with that.

I did read that babies tend to sleep poorly right before and after major milestones, (exhibited with Bean's awful napping right before she started rolling over).

We'll chat tomorrow and if you want, I can pass on some of the things that got her to take at least one long nap a day.

Yes, please! Sometimes I think that he just needs to grow into it, but then I wonder if maybe I'm doing something to cause short naps or need to help him out in some way. See you soon!
