Why I'm still in love with THE IDEA of Smallville, even though the series itself has sort of dropped off that pedestal.

They SHOW me the BLACK SMUDGES on the series everywhere:

The BLACK COSTUME
The BLACK "S"'s
The BLACK CRYSTALS
The BLACK MARKS on Clark's character (yes there's even a screencap of Clark with a "Mark Black" nameplate)see it under my ( Read more... )

Oh interesting, you watch the show still, correct?
Hasn't the Mark Black nameplate been used many times before?

Gotta say that Clark smirking about putting somebody into surgery is... wrong on so many levels!

Thanks for the reply!
Yes I believe i've seen the Mark Black (or Black, Mark) nameplate before , but never so prominently displayed beside Clark, as I recall. I could be wrong. though.

I had been watching THE SERIES up until ECHO. I found the CROSSFIRE spoilers/previews so distasteful (Clois kiss) I decided not to watch that one (First time EVER, with the exception of having to attend a funeral!).

However. I decided to try a little experiment. I just got the Crossfire DL yesterday and watch it in SILENT MODE. And guess what? My review will be forthcoming in my next LJ post.

the Black nameplate, and McBride and McCarthy khylaa November 4 2009, 02:39:45 UTC
Clark was sitting right at his desk at the Daily Planet. (I provided a screen cap showing the prominent placement of the "Black" nameplate in my OP, under the cut).

I also thought about the Chloe=Bride connection right off. The "McBride & McCarthy" poster in the Train Wreck appears to read "Need a (Professional?) Attorney, We Can Help."

Now the only thing I can find on the Internet where both names are presented together refer to a supposed cover-up by the US Military concerning the death of a soldier by "Friendly Fire" in Iraq, where the known killer was actually promoted rather than reprimanded.

Thanks! The place where I first noticed it was the huge sign behind and above Chlark, not in the poster behind Lois.(I wish I could get HQ screencaps:( -it did sorta look like it might say FINANCIAL ADVISORS, but I was taking a guess.
from my subsequent post:
"hmmmm.... just found out that James McBride, and Cormac McCarthy are both Pulitzer Prize Winners"..."

There's also Charlie McCarthy, probably the most famous ventriloquist dummy of all time.

If Chloe = McBride then Clark should = McCarthy, either a symbol of intolerance and paranoia or puppet who's every word and action is controlled by someone else.

Ok Here ya go.

continuing to search the names McCarthy and McBride separately....

hmmmm.... just found out that James McBride, and Cormac McCarthy are both Pulitzer Prize Winners....

McCarthy's latest book, The Road, 2006, is a post-apocalyptic tale which won international acclaim and the Pulitzer Prize for literature. It's film adaptation is set for release November 25 2009.(By the way, his typewriter of 60+ years is up for auction.:))

James McBride says a prevalent theme in his writing is the commonality of the human spirit He is an accomplished journalist writing for several prominent newspapers and magazines.
His novel, Miracle at St. Anna, has also been made into a movie.
