What is the definition of a random act of kindness? Is it random to buy a big issue or to help someone pick things up if they drop say a bag? What is so important about the randomnity of the act? I give money to charity regularly (by direct debit) even though sometimes I could probably do with that money myself. I try to be kind to people as a matter of course rather than being automatically cold or mean. I talk to old people on public transport but that's more becaus it is polite. If I can have a definition I can think about it but I'm not so sure its the random that counts as much as the everyday. What everyday acts of kindness have you performed and why are they less important than the random ones?

....

Ooooh, think I'm gonna cut and paste that over to my own journal. It seems pretentiously me enough. :D
