KL day trip

Last weekend, two family friends (Akira and Orita) from Japan came for a visit. So I have to entertain them and take them around KL. Along with us were my uncle, aunt and a few of their friends. And for heaven sake, most the places we went were places which mostly suitable for senior citizens. As usual, I volunteered as their photographer. :)  ( Read more... )

ah the fireflies still exists in large numbers? i hear their presence has decreased during the present years because of pollution. how long did it take to get there from KL? and did you have to book the boat in advance or what, i've always wanted to see these things.

Oh... You should go there at least one. It's just so incredible beautiful. I went to the Kg. Bukit Belimbing one, not the more famous Kg. Kuantan site. Since this is the first I go there, I can't tell whether the population of fireflies has dwindled or not. But for me, the population of firelies is still pretty healthy.

It's about an hour drive from KL to Kuala Selangor via Sg Buloh. Depends on which site you wanna go, turn right at a junction before entering Kuala Selangor town if you wanna go to Kg. Kuantan or go accross the Sg. Selangor via Kuala Selangor town if you wanna go to Kg. Bukit Belimbing. There's plenty of signage showing the way to Kg. Belimbing site but I didn't see any for Kg. Kuantan site.

You only need to go there between 7pm to 10pm and pay RM10 for the boat ride to watch fireflies. I suggest you to go there before sunset (to avoid getting lost) and have a cheap seafood dinner at Kuala Selangor before you proceed.

Hope this help. :)

One more thing - go during a moonless nite will reveal more fireflies. Good luck. :)
