After all the delay and postpone, I finally made it to Pulau Redang for the SEATRU program before all the east coast island close down for the northeast monsoon (November to February). I just so need to leave KL as soon as possible and I took the earliest possible flight on Saturday morning to Kuala Terengganu. Arrived just in time for breakfast ( Read more... )

An old piece from my photo archive. It was taken during my first field survey along Sungai Perak. I reckoned on telling my colleague how nice the weather was, and we should have spent time on a white sandy beach instead of a river. :-) Nonetheless, we had a fruitful day.

Over the weekend, I was invited to a co-worker's wedding reception at the Keramat AU community hall. Oh ... btw, this is the first time I attended a Malay wedding reception. Excited... ;-) Voluntarily, I was the official photographer among others and a great chance for me to practice wedding photography.

The last beach vacation I had was this - in the infamous Pangkor Island during a crowded Labour Day weekend last year. Plans to the east coast islands just didn't seem to work out. Really hope can make it before the east coast islands close for the monsoon season.

Stuttle Discovery flew pass over Malaysia as expected but 2 minutes late. With greater anticipation and preparation, I was able to expose 3 shot of Discovery's fly-by within the same frame. Darn... ISS is still to dim to show up in the photo I took.

While you guys were having dinner in the comfort of your home, I was out in the field to photograph both International Space Station and shuttle Discovery (STS-114), flying over Malaysia.
