Well..I just got home from a long day at work (6 am. to 2 Pm, and a 30 minute commute both ways) and had a pretty frustrating day..A corporate hot-shot came by to look at the store yesterday, and I had 30 minutes notice before he came..so I was buzzing around the seafood dpt. as fast as I could, trying to get everything presentable..I even had a ( Read more... )

Don't give up, love. You've gone too far to get to where you are nad have it slip away over an anal cor head;, it probably won't be the last time you get shit on. Higher-ups love to be able to push their authority on people below them, and seeing you as a rookie probably made him feel good to vent. Who knows, maybe it was one of those 'shit rolls downhill' times, where he got shit on by someone above him and he took it out on someone who he knows hasn't got a leg to stand on to fight back. Do what you do best. Fight with your smarts, because you have more than enough upstairs to run your own business if you had the chance. Determination and perseverance is what I know you for, don't let one dickhead get you down. I know it hurts like shit to have an idiot like that crap all over you, but that's what corp head do best. It doesn't excuse the behavior, but let this be another lesson in your quest to become the strongest you can be. Illegitimi non carborundum, my friend. =)

Ah! So that's what it was all about! *hugs tight*
I'm going to agree with MamaWuff on this one, sweetheart. It's just a temporary setback. When your manager returns, things should look up again. You've come this far, my love. Don't let one person spoil it for you. Like the old lady proved...there are people who appreciate your efforts. Those are the ones who matter. Recognition from higher up is always appreciated - and I know how badly you want that - but like Shewolf said...in the corp world, the big guys always look out for themselves first. They shouldn't, but they do. Just do what you do best, and be who you are.

I love you, my dearest!
