Where to go when you hit Rock Bottom?

I wasn't just out in the cold, I had hit rock bottom.
I'm an upbeat person, and there's little that can really keep me down for long. But this was serious.
I'm not talented in many ways. In fact, I can only think of one thing I have the remotest affinity for, and that's storytelling. The day I landed my first book contract a bright new world opened ( Read more... )

Very exciting stuff but I was so anxious for you, reading that you talked about WHITE NIGHT before it was written. I've talked myself out of a book before (and I know you have, too), and I was so afraid that would happen to you again. Glad to learn it didn't.

Well - I was subtle about it. I talked about Jonestown, the drama, the suicides, Jim Jones - but I was very reticent about my personal take on it. I did say that I had lived nearby and thus knew the area.

I love how real, and raw, this is. It resonates: I forgot that this is fiction and was concerned for you and wanted to help - and as I read I realized it was the story and forgot about the fiction icon.
