I don't really understand what's going on in the Philippines right now.
It's like all our supposed leaders are complaining, and screaming: trying to drown out the voices of everybody else.
Ok so that's politics. Philippine politics for you and me. Thank you very much.
I was telling Patrick last night how I think I'm returning to my "I'd rather be apolotical and apathetic, rather than be political and pathetic" state again.
I rarely engage into political discussions, because I think it's quite improper to discuss except perhaps in really small politcal-oriented conversations between good friends, scholastic group discussions and other appropriate politcal fora. But otherwise, I try to stay away as much as possible.
Right now, the so-called political ruckus is all that's showing on TV. ROAR! It's all so sickening to the point that I'm even questioning the supposed Philippine media rights and privileges. I feel they're turning the state events into a circus, reporting everything without even processing their reports: what's really news-worthy? what is really credible? what is really important? what is beneficial? what will unite or divide a state? It's not a question of banning freedom of speech, it's more of: delicadesa. What is proper to speak of, when it is proper to speak of.
I mean seriously, DON'T WE ALL JUST WANT TO GET ON WITH OUR LIVES?
If you think about it, Manila is just the one experiencing the chaos. I mean, here in Parañaque, everyone's just mum and peaceful. Silent: wanting to go on with their lives. Tere (
stress_bee)was telling me how quiet life is in Antipolo as well.
I'm betting, Visayas and Mindanao do not really give a shite about what's going on here in Manila, they'd even be more concerned about their loved ones living near Fort Bonifacio if a coup'd'etat actually breaks out.
Excuse my French, but whodafuckcares about all these issues that politicians brought about last Friday in the rally? I mean life's hard, and that's a fact, but don't rub it in. Don't cause anymore injury: don't make life harder.
I'm sorry, but the politicians and ex-politicians who spoke up last Friday were speaking out of a personal vendetta and not because of the woes of the nation. Supreme Sacrifice, my ass. Really. The Supreme Sacrifice is for politicians and ex-politicians to curtail their speeches centered on personal agendas. The Supreme Sacrifice is for them politicians and ex-politicians to really humble themselves, forgive and work hard to move on in order for the Philippine economy to survive.
Before I get violent.... (this is why I don't like discussing politics.) *AHEM*
Corruption's not new anymore. Isn't everyone in power guilty of corruption anyway? How could these people demand for truth and honesty when they themselves are drenched in such sin? I mean, seriously, no truth shall come out of people who are guilty of the same crime.
It's not that I'm pro-Gloria for the sake of being a purist. I am most probably pro-Gloria because I am a statesman, and the last thing I could do to my country is add to its bloody chaos. I believe that to question authority at this point in time will weaken the battered Motherland. All I want to do now is help and cooperate in order for the Philippines to recuperate. All I want to do now is educate my children so that they will have THE RIGHT VALUES instilled in them, unlike their ancestors (who are the leaders of today). To me, it's a matter of proper allocation and investment in the present for the future. Because if we keep dwelling in the past, we will be left with the past. And Just the past. NOTHING MORE. It's a matter of love, humility and forgiveness.
Not because we let criminals get away with their crimes--but because everyone's been a criminal anyway. Who are we to pretend that we are "holier than thou?"
For those in power who are not guilty whatsoever of corruption, these people should all the more understand what love, humility and forgiveness is about. They are afterall the better side of the lot.
Makes me think, who are our leaders really serving? Is it the Filipino people, or just themselves? Because really, we just want to get on with our lives in order to improve it. We want to work together, not against each other. Yet how could we when everything's made into an issue.
Fellow Filipinos in the Philippines, why are we killing our country because of our own selfish reasons?!!!
Quo Vadis Pilipinas?
Many prayers for the Philippines.
