[Ooooh, gold eyes. Here, have some freshmeat.]

'Prey'?

... You one of those cannibals?

I don't know.

Do you?

I suppose it depends on what you think a cannibal looks like.

Well, you, for starters.

Weird colored eyes, I guess. I don't know. I've never stuck around long enough to get a good glimpse.

Then perhaps more research is needed. After all, I've met several people with oddly-colored eyes, but they're perfectly harmless.

But if you want to continue with your hypothesis, well... I see nothing wrong with my eyes. Therefore, I'm not a cannibal. Problem solved~.

Hm. You've got a point there. Been too busy taking care of other subjects to go around staring at people in the eyes.

Never thought I'd hear the word 'hypothesis' here, though. You a researcher?

Ah, but surely some time could be spared for such an important area of research....

A researcher? ...In a way, I suppose. But only when there are worthy subjects to actually research~.

About cannibals? Not really. S'long as they don't kill me, I don't have a lot to say to them. Besides, gathering data on the various technological advancements from different worlds is so much more interesting.

Kinda selective, aren't you? I'll bite. What's worth researching?

...You almost sound like a friend of mine.

My research is strictly confidential, I'm afraid. Not that I don't like you, but there are some things humans aren't meant to know~.

Hopefully whoever that is, is decently intelligent, or I might just be offended.

Not human, then? And I thought I've seen it all. If not a cannibal, then what are you?

He's more than just "decently intelligent," I promise. Don't ever tell him I told you that if you meet him, though. His ego is far too big as it is.

Does it really matter what I am~?

Like I would, even if I knew who this person was, anyway. I know all about big-egos. Besides, is he even here in Somarium? It's kinda a moot point.

Yeah, it does. Depending on your answer, I might just have to hang up. Violently.

Oh, he is. Fortunately or unfortunately, I can't really tell....

Touchy, touchy. But I fail to see how it does. We were having a pleasant conversation before this matter popped up, weren't we?

Well, if he's a friend, then it'd be fortunately, wouldn't it? I don't see your problem.

Actions of the past don't always dictate the actions of the future. Besides, the point is, I'd at least like to know what I'm talking to.

As long as he continues to stock his fridge with milk, then I suppose there is no problem.

What you see is what you get. There's nothing heinous lurking beneath the surface.
